i have a good friend who swears by Nair. but i'm not in to it.

ask for debbie at Fusion Day Spa. she is *not* shy, so ditch your modesty at the door.

I love the way waxing looks and feels, but it's soo expensive around here. Any ladies have reccommendations for places around town that charge less than the stadard $60-$70 for a brazilian? And here's a tip: take some Advil before you go to the salon. It helps!

I LOVE DEBBIE. She is hilarious and awesome. Does every woman in this city go to her? I just found out my hairdresser goes to her.

Regular Girl: If you have never experienced being hair-free (or at least hair-diminished), I strongly suggest you give it a go. Screw what the menfolk thing - I find all of the things that go on downtown to be more pleasurable/manageable in the absense of excess hair.

I like a trimmed bush. It does not have to be super small, or even bald. But neat and trimmed. I personally like it when it's trimmed but keeps a 'natural shape' to it. Those really thin strips or those little tuffs look weird. Regular Girl, if you are naturally light down there, it may be fine, but if you are hairy, trim down, you'll make the boys happy.

Some guys like lots and lots of hair. Like a bearskin bikini hairy. That's a fetish though.

Personally, by the time I get to seeing how much hair you have I've already decided whether or not this is happening. It's gonna take a disturbing looking rash to make me turn back, not some hair.

HOWEVER! My ex-gf would shave every few months. At first she did it because she thought I'd like it, and I did, but then she did it for her. Why? Because I'll spend a lot more time eating, and over a wider area, if I don't have to pick the hair out of my meal. I prefer to floss after dinner, not during. I hope I'm not beating about the lack of bush too much for you. (puns unavoidable)
Once she did it she'd keep it short for awhile and then let it grow out. But she only did this every so often because it pokes and itches and gets ingrown so much as it grows out again.

Another ex-gf always kept it shaved. She had kept herself to women only before me and tried to make herself look the way she liked her women to look.

Wow, truly an embarrasment of riches on this one. Check it: everyone needs to do their part, not just the ladies. At the least, there needs to be some trimming going on, and some shaving going on in certain places. When you're done, the shape should resemble a slice of pizza with a bite taken out. But ladies, the most crucial thing is this: please do not have a hairy ass crack. Oy, such a turnoff you don't even know.

I'm with Girl Anon on this one. I love the way it feels to be completely bare...everything is heightened in pleasure, so I strongly recommend you give it a try, regular girl. That being said, I'm not going to spend $70 a month of my hard earned money waxing it off.

There is a product that you can buy at Walmart for like $1.50 called Magic Shave Powder. It's a depilatory for black men's beards...and whaddya know, it works great on pubes! Lasts longer than shaving and almost no razor bumps during grow-back :)

A big bush is totally disgusting. I don't care what anyone says. I have never known a guy who likes a big hairy bush down there. Just as I have never met a girl who wants to see big bush on a dude.

Trim that shit up. You shouldn't have to push 5 lbs of hair away to find what you are looking for.

disgusting.

please trim

haha.. I love it how K always pretends she knows absolutely nothing about any of the remotely fun subjects (another example, see: http://www.firstdatedc.com/2006/06/crazy-in-head-crazy-in-bed-dcb-answered).

However, for the most part she consistently comes up with good advice (save a topic a few days ago) so it's all good.

Speaking as a girl who mostly likes girls - shaved. Please, please, shaved. It's more fun for you (heightened sensitivity), more fun for me (no, er, whiskerburn means I spend more time down there), which means more fun for you (see earlier comment about spending more time down there.) And this one goes out to guys and gals: hairy ass = instant turn-off.

First of all, grooming choices are certainly no indication that a girl might be a slut. That was rude, Mike, and slightly paranoid.

Second, and most important, there is hair there for a reason. For those of us who are super sensitive (I know, I'm really lucky, I can get off just by crossing my legs), there needs to be a little barrier there. The one time I took everything off I couldn't have sex- hell, I couldn't even wear jeans- for a week. I always leave a well-tended landing strip. But nothing in the back, of course.

The man in the boat is a euphemism for the clit. I first heard it at one of those sex toy tupperware parties where they try to keep things clinical but still sell you vibrators and "warming creams". Ugh.

Umm,first of all...I never, EVER, thought anybody would shave the hair off the labia. EVER. I mean, isn' that skin just way too delicate to put a razor to?

Personally, no guy has ever said anything about my hair situation down-there which is typically neat and trim with bikini lines shaved.

And for those of us girls with darker hair, shaving ain't all that great cos you can still see the hair root and it feels prickly within a matter of days, and it grows back even coarser, so it's really pointless in my opinion.

By those Brazilian Surgi-Wax kits at CVS. Super-simple, super-cheap, barely messy, no muslin strips...and you can do it on your own. It will be painful, of course, but not debilitatingly so and it is soooo worth it. I tried it once and only made it half way because my nerve-endings were really getting fired up but i'm going to really attempt to have it all off the next time. I know it'll feel grreat and even better for the guy!

I second the Magic Shave Powder. You can actually buy it in cream form, look for it at CVS in the shaving products aisle. Nair is way too rough for my sensitive skin but the Magic Shave works like a charm, and is cheaper too.

Speaking as another girl who mostly likes girls-- I agree with what she said. Shaving really makes everything more pleasureable and comfortable and is more considerate to your partner. I don't think waxing is necessary; shaving is simple, and I've never had any complaints about being prickly.

Once I got my first brazilian, I never looked back. (I leave a small upside down triangle of hair at the top of the "canoe" lol, I LOVE THAT! Anything else makes me feel sweaty, itchy and downright dirty. It's great to have a smooth like a baby butt crack! I recommend every woman try this at least once...I live in SOCAL and can get one for $45 www.braziliaskincare.com. It is worth every penny, every uncomfortably painful rip of the hair and some strange woman analyzing your private parts with glaringly white light. Sex is better if you ever make it to the sex...my ex rarely came up for air...plus you feel incredibly hot walking around in regular clothes. I once got one in FL by some brazilian lady and IT LASTED 6 WEEKS...I wanted to fly back out there and give her a kiss.
